Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool are the three major clubs who want to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko at the end of this season.
Bakayoko joined PSV’s youth system in 2020 and the winger has been attracting interest for some time now. Last summer, Burnley and Brentford wanted to sign him but he rejected a move, choosing to remain in the Netherlands and continue his progress.
This season, he’s been a top performer for PSV, scoring six and assisting eight goals in 25 league games and he has an xA of 7.99 along with an xG of 6.43.
According to a detailed report by Scouted Football, Johan Bakayoko is the perfect modern-day winger who can not only cross the ball into the box but can also dribble past his opponents with ease. He is not the paciest of wingers but at the same time, he is very stoutly built which helps him to hold up possession in the final third.
His current market value stands at about £34 million and as per reports, PSV will sell him if they receive a transfer fee in the region of £42 million and £50 million. The Dutch side’s demands seem pretty justified because the right-winger still has two more years remaining on his contract.
There’s no doubt that Johan Bakayoko is a very exciting talent and after a solid season, it is time for him to take the next step in his career. Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool are looking for a world-class right-winger and paying £45-50 million for someone who has had 21 goal contributions in 40 games this season should not be a problem.
Earlier this year, PSV director of football Earnie Stewart had admitted that the 20-year-old is most likely going to leave in the summer but the three EPL sides aren’t the only ones who are interested in his signature.
Johan Bakayoko has also been on the radar of Borussia Dortmund and PSG and both these clubs are expected to make moves before he heads for the EURO 2024.
Bakayoko is going to be one of the top talents for Belgium in the upcoming European Championship and if he can end up having a great tournament then there’s no doubt that PSV are going to increase his valuation in the blink of an eye.
