Former Manchester City hero Sergio Aguero has admitted that he would have loved to play under Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
Aguero retired from professional football in December 2021 due to a heart condition. He left Manchester City just six months earlier to join Barcelona on a free transfer, having won 12 major trophies during his time at the Etihad Stadium.
This summer will see Klopp leave his role as Liverpool manager after nearly nine years in the Anfield dugout. The 56-year-old announced the news in January that he would be stepping down at the end of the season.
Liverpool have already won one major trophy this season with the Carabao Cup, adding to Klopp’s impressive collection across his time on Merseyside. The Reds are also battling to win the Premier League and Europa League in what will be Klopp’s final months in the job.
Aguero had a good record against Liverpool during his time at City, scoring seven goals across 19 appearances. Now the 35-year-old five-time Premier League winner has given his view on Klopp’s tenure at Anfield, and why the Premier League will miss him when he leaves the Reds at the end of the season.
