Feyenoord coach has confirmed his move to Liverpool.
Liverpool have yet to officially announce Arne Slot’s backroom team, despite confirming the Dutchman as Jurgen Klopp’s successor last month.
Slot officially began his new role on June 1 and is scheduled to be unveiled officially later this summer.
With approximately a month remaining until he leads his first pre-season at Anfield, his coaching staff is gradually taking shape, albeit without official confirmation.
Sipke Hulshoff is anticipated to join his compatriot in transitioning from Feyenoord to Liverpool and assume the role of the club’s new assistant head coach.
However, he remained tight-lipped about his future when recently questioned.
“I can’t go into too much detail about the content, but ultimately it is the head coach who decides who comes along,” he told RTV NOF Radio.
“The collaboration with Arne is at such a good level that his confidence in me is also great and that is wonderful.”
Meanwhile, reports from Holland suggest that Slot intends to bring Etienne Reijnen with him to Liverpool.
Reijnen may face challenges due to lacking the necessary coaching qualifications for the Premier League.
This could potentially hinder his ability to obtain a work visa for the UK.
FEYENOORD COACH CONFIRMS LIVERPOOL MOVE BEFORE CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT
One Feyenoord coach who will indeed make the move to Anfield is Ruben Peeters.
His agency, Claes Agency, revealed the 32-year-old’s transfer to Liverpool last week.
Peeters himself has now confirmed the move via LinkedIn, preparing to assume the role of the Reds’ new first-team lead physical performance coach.
He posted: I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as First Team Lead Physical Performance Coach at Liverpool Football Club!”
There will indeed be significant changes behind the scenes at Anfield this summer following Klopp’s departure as manager.
Alongside Klopp, Pep Lijnders, Peter Krawietz, Vitor Matos, John Achterberg, Jack Robinson, Andreas Schlumberger, and Andreas Kornmayer have all exited the club.
Ruben Peeters will assist in replacing the latter two, who served as head of fitness and conditioning and head of recovery and performance.
While Slot’s trusted backroom team members will help fill some of the vacancies, Liverpool are also currently seeking candidates for various roles.
These include a first-team set-piece coach, first-team physiotherapist, and physical performance coach-strength and conditioning lead, as advertised on LinkedIn.
