Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Sporting CP attacker Pedro Goncalves ahead of a potential swoop, according to a report.

Liverpool are closely monitoring Sporting CP striker Pedro Goncalves ahead of a potential move, according to Journalist Graham Bailey revealed  that Liverpool have sent a scout to watch him in action this weekend.

Sporting CP picked up an important win against Estoril and Liverpool scouts will be impressed with Goncalves’ performance as he got on the scoresheet.

The 25-year-old has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool believed to be the latest club to show interest in bringing him to England. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be interested in the coming months, but any possible deal would not come cheap.

Previous reports suggested that Sporting would be willing to collect Goncalves’ full transfer fee of £69m if they let him leave. The Portuguese star is versatile enough to play on either wing and would add creativity and goals if he joins Liverpool.

Aterul is young enough to be coached and Jurgen Klopp can get the best out of him. Regular Premier League football could accelerate his development and help him realize his potential.
