Liverpool predicted team vs Fulham as Diogo Jota starts and Jürgen Klopp makes three changes

Liverpool predicted team vs Fulham: Jürgen Klopp has nearly a full squad to pick from for the trip to West London, and the German could start with Diogo Jota.

Liverpool heads into this weekend’s game with Fulham at Craven Cottage knowing it needs all three points if it is to stay in the title race. The home defeat to Crystal Palace a week ago put a massive dent in the Reds’ title aspirations, and now Jürgen Klopp’s men need results to go in their favor if they are to win a second league title in four years.

With Manchester City preoccupied with FA Cup duty this weekend, only Liverpool and Arsenal of the three title contenders are in action, with the Gunners away to Wolves in a game kicking off later today. An Arsenal win would put even more pressure on Liverpool to keep up with the London side, yet should Liverpool win tomorrow it would then put the same pressure on City.

A defeat or a draw against Fulham would surely signal the end of any title returning to Merseyside, considering how fine the margins are between the three sides and especially City’s sheer relentless in the last few weeks. The good news for Klopp is that he has almost a full-strength squad to choose from for the trip to West London, barring the usual long-term casualties.

Only Northern Irish international Conor Bradley, Thiago Alcântara, Ben Doak and Joël Matip are unavailable for Klopp. Thiago, Doak and Matip won’t play again for the club this season, while Bradley is expected to be out for another couple of weeks after picking up an ankle injury in the 1-0 defeat to Palace last weekend.

Alisson Becker returned to full fitness for the Palace game and played in goal in the 1-0 win against Atalanta in Europe. The Brazilian will continue to start in goal at the expense of Caoimhín Kelleher.

Trent Alexander-Arnold started his first game in two months in Bergamo and will start at right-back with Bradley injured. Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté are likely to retain their places at the heart of the Reds’ defense, while Andy Robertson will start at left-back.

In midfield, Klopp has a wealth of options to pick from, with all of his midfielders except Thiago healthy and eager to play. We could see Alexis Mac Allister continue at the base of the midfield, flanked on either side by Wataru Endō and Harvey Elliott, both of whom were on the bench against Atalanta in midweek.

In attack, Liverpool strikers continue to be wasteful and none of them are in form. Mohamed Salah scored from the spot against Atalanta but also wasted a big chance in the first half, yet it’s likely the Egyptian will start alongside Luis Díaz and Diogo Jota, who could get the nod due to Darwin Núñez drop in form.

Predicted Liverpool XI to face Fulham: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold; Konaté, Van Dijk, Robertson; Elliott, Endō, Mac Allister; Salah, Jota, Díaz. If Jota is not fit enough to start yet, then Cody Gakpo could keep his place.
