Latest Liverpool news and gossip as the Reds have learned of new dates for some important Premier League fixtures in the title race with Manchester City and Arsenal
Liverpool’s race for the Premier League title became much clearer after the update to their fixture schedule on Saturday.
It was confirmed that new dates and times had been set for three of Liverpool’s top-flight fixtures in April. One of them is the Merseyside derby, which was originally scheduled to be played last weekend when the Reds were in FA Cup action against Manchester United.
The Reds will now make the trip across Stanley Park to face Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday, April 24. That fixture is now in the middle of away trips against Fulham and West Ham, which have also been moved for TV coverage.
Liverpool will go to Craven Cottage on Sunday, April 21 in a 4.30pm kick-off, before visiting the London Stadium six days later on April 27 in a 12.30pm kick-off. There is the possibility that the game against West Ham could be moved again if Arsenal have a Champions League home semi-final on Tuesday, April 30.
Jurgen Klopp and Co. now know when they will play all but three of their final 10 Premier League fixtures. It will begin against Brighton on March 31, as the Reds battle to win the title against rivals Arsenal and Manchester City.
Liverpool are level on points with the Gunners at the top of the table but are second due to the north London club having a superior goal difference. Man City are one point behind the Reds in third, with Liverpool’s title rivals going head-to-head the same day as their clash against Brighton.
