To salute the 2025 girls’ flag high school football season, the NFL‘s New Orleans Saints are saluting a Coach of the Week and a Player of the Week.
After beginning with ten schools last season, the league grows to 20 teams this season. Below are the schools taking part in the 2025 season.

2025 Coach of the Week winners
Week 1 – Brandon Godfrey, John Curtis HS
Coach Brandon Godfrey of John Curtis coached the Patriots to a 27-0 victory over the St. Katharine Drexel Yellow Jackets. Throughout the game, he displayed great communication with his players, was attentive and supportive on the sidelines, and did an incredible prepping his players for the season opener. Although they walked away with a big win, Coach Godfrey’s post-game speech to his team preached the importance of correcting mistakes and staying humble.
2025 Player of the Week winners
Week 1 – Azelyah Henderson, Edna Karr HS
In her first Saints High School Girls Flag Football game against the Kenner Discovery Swamp Owls, #2 Azelyah Henderson of the Edna Karr Cougars had an impressive performance. She recorded a punt return for a touchdown, caught one touchdown pass with 100 all-purpose yards for the day, earning her the this week’s title.
