The New England Patriots are gearing up for the 2025 NFL Draft, and fans are eagerly anticipating the team’s selections. In our first mock draft of the season, we’re predicting that the Patriots will focus on shoring up their offensive line with two key picks.
Round 1, Pick 14: Peter Skoronski, OT, Northwestern
The Patriots have a pressing need at tackle, and Peter Skoronski is one of the top prospects at the position. Skoronski is a dominant force in the run game, with the strength and athleticism to take on even the toughest defensive linemen. He’s also a solid pass protector, with quick feet and a strong punch.
While Skoronski may not have the same level of upside as some of the other top tackle prospects, he’s a safe and reliable pick who can start from day one. The Patriots have a history of valuing players who can contribute immediately, and Skoronski fits the bill.
Round 2, Pick 46: John Michael Schmitz, C, Minnesota
After addressing their need at tackle in the first round, the Patriots turn their attention to the center position in the second round. John Michael Schmitz is a talented and athletic center who excels in the run game. He’s got a strong base and can generate a lot of power at the point of attack.
Schmitz is also a solid pass protector, with quick feet and a strong anchor. He’s got a high football IQ and is able to read defenses and make adjustments on the fly.
While Schmitz may not have the same level of upside as some of the other top center prospects, he’s a solid and reliable pick who can start from day one. The Patriots have a history of valuing players who can contribute immediately, and Schmitz fits the bill.
Other Notable Picks:
Round 3, Pick 78: Trey Palmer, WR, Nebraska
The Patriots need to add some depth to their receiving corps, and Trey Palmer is a talented and athletic wideout who can contribute immediately. Palmer has got a strong combination of size, speed, and agility, and is able to make plays down the field.
Round 4, Pick 110: Cameron Young, DT, Mississippi State
The Patriots need to add some depth to their defensive line, and Cameron Young is a talented and athletic defensive tackle who can contribute immediately. Young has got a strong combination of size, strength, and athleticism, and is able to make plays in the backfield.
