The Patriots have made some significant coaching staff additions, including the hiring of Josh McDaniels as offensive coordinator and Terrell Williams as defensive coordinator. McDaniels, who is returning to the Patriots for his third stint, is expected to bring a new level of excitement and energy to the team’s offense.

 

According to Coach Vrabel, McDaniels’ experience and evolving scheme were key factors in his hiring. “There’s an experience level that’s critical. There’s been some growth from the offense over the years, and [McDaniels] has blended that with some of the new trends,” Vrabel said ¹.

The Patriots are also focused on building their roster, with a number of key positions to fill. According to Wolf, the team is looking for players who fit Coach Vrabel’s vision and can contribute immediately.

“We’re going to try to use every avenue possible, whether it’s through scouting or analytical measures,” Wolf said. “What can help us gain an insight, maybe an advantage, maybe it’s something that raises a flag and says, ‘Oh, well, let me go look at it that way.’” ¹

The Patriots have a number of key needs to address, including the offensive line, wide receiver, and quarterback positions. According to Cowden, the team is looking for players who can bring a high level of energy and effort to the field.

 

“Everything with Coach Vrabel and what he’s going to impart to his staff is about the effort and the finish,” Cowden said. “It sounds simplistic, but it does make a difference.” ¹
