The Cleveland Browns have a unique opportunity to improve the team with the No. 2 overall pick in April’s NFL Draft.

Speculation differs about which direction the team will go at No. 2 – will they take one of the top two quarterbacks thought to be available or will they go defense based on the trade demand of Myles Garrett?

In NFL.com’s latest mock draft, Lance Zierlein actually thinks they have an opportunity to do both with a trade situation.

General manager Andrew Berry & Co. decide on the best player available at No. 2 at draft Colorado wideout/corner Travis Hunter.

“Hunter can come in and start at receiver or cornerback right away,” Zierlein wrote. “He’d have a big impact at either position for the Browns.”

That means the Browns did not get one of the top two quarterbacks in the draft, right? Wrong. Zierlein thinks Shedeur Sanders will fall and Cleveland will have another opportunity to take the Colorado star after trading up to No. 29 with Washington.

“Sanders’ slide is over, as the Browns flip their No. 33 overall pick and an additional selection to the Commanders in order to take a swing at a QB of the future,” Zierlein said.

It seems outlandish that Sanders would fall all the way to the end of the first round, but that’s the great nature of mock drafts – anything can happen.

In this scenario, the Browns get their quarterback and improve on defense and possibly offense, depending on how they plan to utilize Hunter.
