The New England Patriots are reportedly ” big time in” on Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Milton Williams, according to Boston Sports Journal’s Greg Bedard.
Williams has been a powerful, disruptive force along the defensive front for the Eagles. He recorded 24 tackles, one forced fumble, five sacks and one pass deflection last season. However, he saved his best for last, as he was able to record a strip sack on Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to help the Eagles win Super Bowl LIX.
Milton was one of the standouts for the Eagles’ defensive line in that game with four tackles and two sacks.
“I’m hearing the Patriots are big time in on Milton, and I am big time in on Milton,” said Bedard on the “Greg Bedard Patriots Podcast.” “He is a game wrecker, game-changer on the inside. …Jalen Carter is great. Jordan Davis is a good role player. Milton Williams, you could argue, was the best defender on the Eagles defensive line during their postseason run.”
The combination of Williams, Christian Barmore and Keion White could cause a lot of problems for opposing offenses. It would be a monumental upgrade from last season, when the team struggled to stop the run and pressure quarterbacks.
