The New York Jets have undergone a massive overhaul this offseason, including hiring new head coach (and former player) Aaron Glenn, moving on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and parting ways with wide receiver Davante Adams, among other moves.
Jets Add Dynamic Penn State TE Tyler Warren
Decker has the Jets selecting the first tight end off the board, Penn State’s Tyler Warren.
“As new head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey try to restore a once-proud organization, the New York Jets find themselves in turmoil after the brief and underwhelming Aaron Rodgers era. Glenn and Mougey are likely to model the roster and culture after the Detroit Lions’ blue-collar approach. And if there’s a blue-collar prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft , it’s Warren.
Hailing from Mechanicsville, Virginia, the 6’6″, 261-pound tight end does everything at a high level. He’s a fearless competitor, a dominant force in the run game, and a physical yet savvy receiver with dangerous run-after-the-catch ability.

The Jets are coming off a 5-12 season, the first after Rodgers tore his Achilles four snaps into his Jets tenure on opening night in 2023 against the Buffalo Bills.
The team averaged 218.5 passing yards per game (16th) and 91.8 rushing yards per game (31st).
On defense, they gave up just 313.8 yards per game (third-best) but allowed 23.8 points per game (20th).
With Rodgers out, New York needs to find an answer at quarterback. The current depth chart consists of Tyrod Taylor and Jordan Travis, and Taylor
Rodgers threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions last season.
The Jets could explore the free agency market, which includes Sam Darnold, Justin Fields, Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, and others. Darnold headlines the market, but it’s fair to assume he won’t return to the team that drafted him.
So, the Jets could use their No. 7 overall pick to move up and select their quarterback of the future, but Decker isn’t wrong about Warren.
He would add a hard-nosed style of football to this Jets skill-position group, which still includes running back Breece Hall and wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
