BOMBSHELL: Otega Oweh earns All-SEC honors Oweh is the only Wildcat to earn an honor from the SEC coaches.

The SEC Coaches postseason awards have been handed out, and Kentucky Wildcats guard Otega Oweh made it as a Second-Team All-SEC selection. He was the only Wildcat to earn a postseason honor.

As a junior transfer from the Oklahoma Sooners, Oweh established himself as one of the best players in what’s easily the best conference in college basketball this season. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 16.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists per game, and 1.5 steals per game. He scored in double figures 29 times in 31 games played.

In Saturday’s regular-season finale at Missouri, Oweh scored a game-high 22 points, 20 coming after halftime. At Vanderbilt on Senior Night, Oweh notched his second career double-double with 21 points and a career-high 12 rebounds.

Now, Oweh will be Kentucky’s go-to player in what hopes to be a long and fruitful postseason for the Wildcats, who are ranked 15th in the final regular-season AP Top 25 Poll.
