Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats are preparing to play the Tennessee Volunteers in the Sweet Sixteen on Friday. However, the transfer portal is open, and they are recruiting for next season at the same time. One such player is Dedan Thomas.
Thomas was a four star recruit out of high school, and ranked as a top 40 player in his class. He chose UNLV, and played there the past two seasons. This past season, he averaged 15.6 points and 4.7 assists per game.
As of now, 247sports ranks Thomas as a top five available player in the portal. He’s both an effective scorer, and a quality passer. He also shoots it pretty well from deep, having made 35% from there last season. He was also named third-team All-Mountain West.
Pope’s first transfer class turned out to be one of the nation’s best. The Wildcats figure to add multiple players again this year, and Thomas would be a quality start to this year’s class.
