Former NFL head coach Jon Gruden says there’s a job he wants with the Tennessee Vols football program.
Gruden, who served as a graduate assistant at Tennessee in 1986 and 1987, joined The Mike Keith Show this week and he told show host Mike Keith that he’d love to return to UT as a graduate assistant under current Vols head coach Josh Heupel.
“I got to visit with Coach Heupel and meet his wife last night, maybe I can come back here and be a GA (graduate assistant) all over again,” said Gruden. “That’s the job I want.”
“Really?” asked Keith in response.
“Oh hell yeah,” answered Gruden. “I’ll just go up to my barn (his property in nearby Sevierville) and I’ll come down here and break down tape and live happily ever after.”

I don’t know if Gruden is joking or if he’s being serious.
But if he’s being serious, maybe Heupel and Tennessee should take him up on the offer. At the very least, Gruden could provide some unique insight when it comes to breaking down film.
After all the years of “Grumors”, it would be wild to see Gruden on the sideline in a Tennessee polo on game days in the fall.
