Rob Gronkowski, four years removed from his NFL retirement, has taken over a full-time role at Fox Sports, replacing Jimmy Johnson in the “Fox NFL Sunday” pregame show crew. The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end had made numerous guest appearances on the show since 2022, breaking down the game alongside Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long and Michael Strahan.
But before the 2025 NFL season begins, Gronkowski unveiled an exciting project he and his family have been working on.
Gronk Unveils $50 Million Training Facility
On Thursday, one week before the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles open the regular season, Gronkowski unveiled a new training facility at Boston College High School, according to NBC Sports Boston.
The four-time Super Bowl champion said a $50 million donation from an alumnus made it possible for him and his family to build the facility. A video of the complex shows that much of the equipment was supplied by Gronk Fitness, the fitness equipment company owned by Gronkowski and his brothers, Dan, Glenn, Chris and Gordie Jr.
“This facility is through the roof,” Gronkowski said. “It’s the best high school facility I’ve ever seen in my life. There was someone that made the donation that went here, so I can’t take all the credit for what Boston College High School did, which is buy the weight room from my family and I, Gronk Fitness. My Dad started in this industry 35-plus years ago.
“So we just want to thank them for coming to us and trusting in us to build their weight room, which is just through the roof as well. It’s incredible, it’s state-of-the-art. But just overall, the facilities here.
“Just everything is top of the line. Boston College High School is doing it better than Boston College. That’s how incredible it is here. So they got to amp it up, that’s how nice it is here.”
According to Gronkowski, the new BC High School facility includes:
A pool
Nutrition room
Weight room
Cardio room
Basketball courts
Gronk Nation Youth Foundation
Gronkowski’s involvement with the younger generation may not come as a surprise to some. In 2013, he and his brothers established the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation with a mission to “help kids stay actively involved in school and sports and provide them with the tools needed to help them follow their dreams and live a happy and more successful life.”
Other projects supported by the Gronkowski Foundation include:
A $400,000 donation to renovate Woodland Hills High School’s weight room
A $1.2 million renovation of Gronk Playground
A $315,000 contribution to the Tampa Bay Resiliency Fund for hurricane relief
Support for various children’s hospitals
Gronkowski will make his full-time debut with “Fox NFL Sunday” on Sept. 7, airing at noon ET.
