Caleb Wilson shares exactly how he got his Darryn Peterson revenge with UNC win

One of the best memes you’ll see on social media is the Michael Jordan clip from “The Last Dance,” the one where the “G.O.A.T.” says, “I took that personally.”

Well, Caleb Wilson has that Jordan mindset, as evident by his post-game comments following the UNC basketball program’s victory over No. 19-ranked Kansas.Wilson has felt the disrespect from all angles and is making it known that he’s keeping a list of it all.

“Me personally, I feel like I’ve been disrespected in polls and things like that,” Wilson stated while speaking to the media. “People telling me I’m not a top-three freshman in the ACC, so I’m just going to keep going out here and killing people because I got a list on my phone, and it’s nowhere near done, so just going to keep happening for sure.”Wilson’s motivation came from a fellow five-star freshman

Wilson, who admitted that he changes his phone wallpaper before games based on his list to get him “pissed” was asked by Carolina Blitz what was his motivation on Friday night.

His answer might be a bit surprising.

Wilson went on to say that he used a picture of how he felt following the McDonald’s All-American game, one in which he didn’t touch the basketball much. In that game, Wilson attempted just four shots, which was likely very frustrating for someone who has the ball in his hands quite often.

One of his teammates in that game was none other than… Darryn Peterson. Unlike Wilson, Peterson got his fair share of the basketball, chucking up 14 shots. It seems that Peterson was one of the culprits that Wilson blames for the lack of touches he earned, as now it makes a little more sense, especially given how he outplayed AJ Dybantsa (another teammate in this game who took 12 shots) when the UNC basketball program competed against BYU in exhibition play.

Basically, we all owe Darryn Peterson a big “thank you” for being the motivation Wilson needed heading into this game. Our five-star freshman outplayed their five-star freshman, as the Tar Heels had no trouble sharing the basketball and getting Wilson his touches.
