The positive side of Klopp’s comments is that it gives Liverpool time to consider his replacement and choose the best option. One of the first names to be linked is of course former Anfield great Xabi Alonso, with the former midfield maestro doing wonders with Bundesliga-leading Bayer Leverkusen. But Alonso is not the only Bundesliga coach involved in this issue. Current Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel could be considered for the job, according to Ben Jacobs.
“It’s ridiculous,” he told GiveMeSport. “Tuchel says he is more valuable in England than in Germany and his involvement may be surprising, but I think he will be back in the Premier League very quickly. . I think he would love the chance to go to Liverpool and show Chelsea what they are missing. “I think he really likes it. “Tuchel’s time at Chelsea started well but ended when he was sacked just 18 months after taking charge and just 15 months after winning the Champions League. He then signed for Bayern as a replacement for Julian Nagelsmann in March 2023. Coincidentally, Tuchel replaced Klopp at Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2015, before Klopp left the German side at the end of the 2014/2015 season. Tuchel won around 11 trophies during his managerial career.
Jurgen Klopp’s decision to leave Liverpool has shocked Liverpool fans around the world. The 56-year-old joined the club more than a year ago, but the German believes he still has some energy left to perform at his best. And nine years and countless trophies later, Liverpool are competing in Europe for Klopp’s successor.
