Jurgen Klopp’s decision to leave Liverpool has rocked the football world. His announcement this week came out of the blue with a further improvement in Liverpool’s squad and in the midst of another cup final. Klopp signed a new contract with Liverpool around a year ago but said he lacked energy and was struggling at work after nine years in charge.
Klopp’s January announcement will give Liverpool time to find a successor and Klopp’s closest friend in football, current Norwich City manager David Wagner has spoken about Klopp’s decision to leave Liverpool at the end of June .Klopp and Wagner first met when he played for Mainz for two years and have been friends for over 30 years, Bundesliga.
Klopp and Wagner’s friendship was so strong that Wagner was best man at Klopp’s wedding in 2005. Liverpool’s statement in their first game since Klopp came against Wagner’s Norwich side in the fourth round of the FA Cup at Anfield. “I wasn’t surprised, but I was happy when he told me. “I know how difficult and difficult this decision is,” Wagner said in response to Klopp’s comments.”It takes a lot of personality, character and courage to make such a decision, but I think he knows what’s best for him. We both know how hard and difficult this beginning is. No one understands this decision better than I do. I would be happy for that person if they knew it was good for them. “I’m sure he’ll have a good time.”
