Conor Bradley gave an emotional interview after Liverpool beat Chelsea 4-1 on Wednesday. The right-back was sensational.
Conor Bradley started at right-back on Wednesday as Liverpool hammered Chelsea at Anfield. It was unquestionably the biggest and best performance of his career so far – and it’ll take some beating.
Bradley setup the first goal with a pass to Diogo Jota, who admittedly did most of the work. There’s no doubt that he deserved the credit on the second, though, as the Northern Irishman drove past the Chelsea defence and finished like an experienced striker.
He wasn’t done there, though, as Bradley also provided a wonderful cross for Dominik Szoboszlai who headed home.
The 20-year-old became the youngest player to score and assist in a Premier League game under Jurgen Klopp. Bradley is the youngest to do it for Liverpool since Raheem Sterling in 2014 – funnily enough, the player he ran past to score his goal.
Bradley is also the youngest Liverpool player to assist twice in a Premier League game since, as you could probably guess, Trent Alexander-Arnold in 2019. And to continue the stats theme with a fun couple – he has more Premier League assists this season than Bruno Fernandes and more Premier League goals than Antony.
So how does he feel after that? Bradley talked to TNT Sports and admitted he feels like he’s in a dream right now.
“It’s a very proud moment, something I dreamed of for a long time,” said Bradley. “I feel like I’m in a dream. It’s unbelievable.
“I just couldn’t believe my goal went in. I didn’t know what to do. I went over to the corner and did a knee slide. It was brilliant, so it was.
“It was unfortunate the way Trent got injured. I just had to try to take my chance. I feel I’ve done pretty well.”
That’s an understatement. Liverpool have a gem in Bradley – and one who will be a part of this squad for a long time to come.
