Liverpool could make four changes against Arsenal as Jurgen Klopp handed new headache

Liverpool face Arsenal in the Premier League and Jurgen Klopp faces a string of qualifiers. Liverpool made a strong statement with a win over Chelsea in their Premier League clash at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Diogo Jota and Conor Bradley scored in the first half, while Dominic Soboslay and Luis Diaz scored in the second as United won 4-4 against the Londoners, 1 win and 7 clean sheets. Liverpool now face a major test of their title credentials when they face fellow rivals Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

Here’s a look at the changes Jurgen Klopp’s side could make as they take the next step. The trustee’s decisionWith several players returning to fitness, Klopp has plenty of options for one of the biggest games of the season against Liverpool. And the most important decision on defense is who plays quarterback.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has come off the bench for the last two games, but Conor Bradley has been in good form at right-back. Andy Robertson, on the other hand, recently returned after an absence of almost four months, and Joe Gomez continues in the role. Kostas Tsimikas is still injured. 

Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk played as centre-backs against Chelsea, with Jarrell Kwanza the first back-up. Alisson Becker is the starting goalkeeper, with Caoimhin Kelleher ahead of Adrian in the remaining goalkeeping order.

Gravenberg talkAlexis McAllister picked up a knee injury in the dying minutes of the match against Chelsea but was not expected to be a problem for the Emirates. And the Argentine, who is still competing in the Asian Cup with Japan, has been in good form at number six since replacing Endo.

Curtis Jones and Dominic Szoboslay are expected to be strong candidates to retain their positions on the left and right side of the engine room respectively. However, the team came alive in the second half when Harvey Elliott came on as a substitute. Ryan Gravenbirch, off the bench for the first time this season, will compete for the left tackle slot.

Thiago Alcantara is back in training but is likely to still be fit and Stefan Vaicetic is absent. James McConnell and Bobby Clarke, who faced Arsenal in the FA Cup last month, are other options.

With Mohamed Salah back on the pitch but not yet ready to be added, and Ben Doak also ruled out, it’s a four-man battle for the top three. Cody Gakpo was the odd man out against Chelsea and has played in every attacking position this season.

However, while Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz are in good form on the left and right, Darwin Nunez is a threat in the centre. The versatility of all three means they can all be deployed in almost any attacking position. Elliott is another option in right.
