Gabriel Martinelli aims Trent Alexander-Arnold dig after Arsenal identified Liverpool ‘weakness’

Gabriel Martinelli says Arsenal have targeted Trent Alexander-Arnold and the Liverpool right-back for Sunday’s game at the Emirates. The Reds suffered their second Premier League defeat of the season, going down 3-1 to Arsenal. The result saw Mikel Arteta’s Gunners close the gap on the Premier League leaders to just two points, with Manchester City now a neck behind Liverpool.

After recovering from injury, Alexander-Arnold made his first start in weeks in Conor Bradley’s absence. Despite England’s undoubted attacking prowess, their defensive prowess is often tested. Martinelli, who scored Arsenal’s second goal, said he has plans to sign the Liverpool defender. Martinelli said after the match: “I knew this was a part of the pitch where we could get something out of it.

Personally, I’ve always played well against Liverpool.”Alexander-Arnold had the difficult task of managing Martinelli, but it looked difficult. The Brazilian striker produced his best performance of the season and scored Arsenal’s second goal.

But the Liverpool defender was not involved and Virgil van Dijk and Alisson linked a long ball that allowed the Brazilian to slot into the empty net. Martinelli scored five goals for Arsenal against Liverpool, the most against Crystal Palace. And Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is also his fan.
