Micah Richards praises Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott
Harvey Elliott joined Liverpool from Fulham back in the summer of 2019. The Reds were ordered to pay a compensation of up to £4.3 million to the Lilywhites in February of the following year (Guardian).
The youngster has always been a very impressive talent.
A terrible injury pushed him to the sidelines for a while, but since his return, Elliott has been getting better and better under Jurgen Klopp.
The 20-year-old has looked very good this season and has earned himself a Future Stars card on the EA FC 24 video game.
Speaking about Elliott, Micah Richards claimed he rates the youngster highly because he has got everything in his game.
He said on the Rest is Football podcast: “He’s a quality player. When he was at Fulham, there were whispers around ‘who’s this whiz kid, he’s left-footed, can play number 10, can play on the wings, can score goals’.
“Then, when he came to Liverpool, he’s got everything but because he’s sort of in a team which have been challenging for the Premier League and the Champions League, it’s always going to be difficult.
“But now, he’s approaching 100 games? 100 games for Liverpool, that is massive. I really love him as a talent. I just hope he’s got all the tools to go to the next stage because sometimes it’s very difficult when a team’s constantly competing at the highest level.
“But I rate him so highly. He’s got everything.”
Elliott produced a few magical moments for Liverpool when came into the first team, but there were a few difficult games as well.
Jurgen Klopp has had to manage him well, and the German has done a phenomenal job on that front.
Elliott has looked so much better this season. He has played in midfield as well as out wide, and many of his performances have been really good.
Liverpool fans have every reason to be excited about Elliott. He’s still only 20 years old but he’s already so experienced.
That will help him massively in the coming months and years.
