Conor Bradley has declared himself ready to resume his blossoming Liverpool career – and offer Jurgen Klopp a welcome selection boost following the injury setback suffered by Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Bradley had missed the last two games having returned to his native Northern Ireland following the death of his father earlier in the month.

In the absence of the 20-year-old. vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold regained his starting role at right-back only to pick up a knee injury with Curtis Jones having to play in the role during the second half of the 3-1 Premier League win over Burnley last weekend given Joe Gomez was also missing with flu.

And with Alexander-Arnold now expected to be sidelined for an extended period and ruled out of the League Cup final against Chelsea on Sunday week, Bradley was back at the AXA Training Centre on Tuesday and has put himself in the frame for a recall for the trip to Brentford on Saturday lunchtime.

 

“Definitely, I just want to pick up where I left off,” he said. “I just want to keep trying to play as well as I can for the team and help the team as much as I can, so hopefully I can pick up with that on Saturday and see what happens.”
