Goldbridge has insisted that Haaland would not suit Liverpool’s style of play,
Haaland is the top scorer in the Premier League this season with 17 goals in 20 games, despite missing a number of games through injury.
However, Man City are four points behind Liverpool in the title race as Jurgen Klopp looks to end his reign at Anfield with another Premier League.
“I think Erling Haaland is the best striker in the world. I would argue that with anyone, I think he is the best striker in the world,” Goldbridge said.

“But right here, right now, in this title race if you said to Jurgen Klopp ‘you can put Erling Haaland up front’, absolutely no chance!
“If anybody thinks different to that, that is fine. But based on what Liverpool do and how Liverpool play, Erling Haaland would not suit the way Liverpool play.
“Jurgen Klopp would not put him ahead of someone like Darwin Nunez for the simple reason Erling Haaland is a penalty box striker.
“He doesn’t hold the ball up, he doesn’t bring other people into play, he doesn’t win the ball, he doesn’t win many defensive duels, he is not particularly good at creating chances.
“You look at someone like [Diogo] Jota and Nunez, they are fundamental to how Liverpool play football.”
“This season, Jota and Nunez, 13 assists and six assists. Jota has played 1,000 minutes less than Erling Haaland, who has five [assists]. (Note: Jota has four assists, Nunez has 11 assists, Haaland has six assists.)
“This season, passes per 90, 10 for Haaland, 18 for Nunez, 27 for Jota. Erling Haaland is a finisher. A brilliant, brilliant striker.
“But he would not suit that Liverpool system where you have to work hard.”
