Darwin Núñez came up with a late winner for Liverpool against Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest were wrongly made to surrender possession just minutes before Darwin Nunez scored a 99th-minute winner to send Liverpool four points clear at the top of the Premier League.
The Uruguayan forward scored his 14th goal of the season in the final seconds at the City Ground as Jurgen Klopp’s side secured an incredible, last-gasp win over relegation-threatened Forest.
Nunez, who had missed Liverpool’s last three games after suffering a muscle injury in the win over Brentford two weeks ago, emerged from the bench for the final 30 minutes in the Midlands to extend Liverpool’s points advantage over both Manchester City and Arsenal ahead of their games against Manchester United and Sheffield United in the coming days.
However, after the No.9 jumped highest to flick on Alexis Mac Allister’s pin-point cross, supporters of Liverpool’s Premier League title rivals – City and Arsenal – were quick to flag an element of controversy to the winning goal at the City Ground.
That’s because with Forest pushing for a winning goal themselves just seconds before, as they look to haul themselves away from the relegation zone, referee Paul Tierney wrongfully awarded Liverpool a drop-ball when Calum Hudson-Odoi was in possession.
The incident occurred in the 97th minute at the City Ground as Morgan Gibbs White’s corner caused Liverpool duo Caoimhin Kelleher and Ibrahima Konate to collide at the near post, leaving the Frenchman in a heap on the floor.
As a result, referee Tierney signalled for a stoppage in play after the ball had made its way out of the box and to the feet of Hudson-Odoi, who was shaping up to take on his opposite number Luis Diaz.
