Mac Allister Wonder Strike Has Fans Remembering Iconic Liverpool Goal

As the race for the Premier League title continues to build steam and only the tightest of margins separate the top three, it’s looking more and more likely that a moment of magic could determine who lifts the Premier League trophy in a couple of weeks.

It was exactly that, that Alexis Mac Allister delivered this evening against Sheffield United to return Liverpool to the summit of the Premier League, with Liverpool fans comparing it to Gerrard’s famous screamer vs Olympiakos in 2004.

Liverpool took on Sheffield United at Anfield this evening needing a win to overtake Arsenal and regain their position at the top of the table, with Jurgen Klopp’s men eventually delivering a 3-1 win thanks to Mac Allister’s strike.

While Jurgen Klopp’s men enjoyed a fruitful night in Anfield, it was Alexis Mac Allister who continued his outstanding run of form and garnered all the credits, with Liverpool fans comparing his goal to Gerrard’s famous strike against Olympiakos that inspired Liverpool to Champions League victory.

With the game deadlocked at 1-1 and the clock quickly dwindling down, Mac Allister delivered a sublime first-touch shot from the edge of the box straight into the top-right corner, in what will be an easy contender for goal of the season.
