Amorim remains the clear front-runner to take over from Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool boss this summer, although a deal is far from being finalised at present.
However, according to Portuguese outlet O Jogo (via Bola na Rede), Varandas doesn’t appear overly concerned by Liverpool’s interest in Amorim as things stand, with Sporting yet to even consider looking for a new head coach.
Sporting are still chasing a domestic double and Varandas believes that the club’s project is exciting enough to keep Amorim in the capital.
Varandas believes that Sporting’s likely participation in the 2024/25 Champions League and the promise of building an even bigger and better squad next season could be enough to fend off the Reds.

Nagelsmann’s decision could also impact Klopp’s future plans as the current Liverpool boss was expected to be courted by the DFB to take over as Germany manager.
However, a job coaching the national team will have to wait for the 56-year-old.
Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders is one of the names being considered by Turkish giants Besiktas this summer as they look for a new manager.
Lijnders is expected to take on a head coach role next season after announcing his decision to leave Merseyside with Klopp at the end of the season, with Ajax having shown interest in the Dutchman.
However, Besiktas are also eyeing the 41-year-old after sacking former Portugal boss Fernando Santos last week, and Lijnders could take Liverpool’s backroom staff with him, at least according to Sabah.
Lijnders did briefly leave Liverpool to take over at Dutch club NEC Nijmegen in 2018, but he was sacked after just under six months.
Klopp has insisted that he is not concerned about the poor form of Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian missed another huge opportunity against Atalanta on Thursday evening.

Reported Liverpool transfer target Georgiy Sudakov will ‘definitely’ leave Shakhtar Donetsk this summer according to the club’s CEO Sergei Palkin.
The Reds have been frequently linked with the 21-year-old in recent months and are one of a number of top European sides interested in signing the exciting talent.
As a result of some promising displays, Sudakov has been the subject of plenty of transfer interest already, with Shakhtar turning down approaches for the youngster in January.
However, they will cash in on Sudakov in the summer window, at least according to Shakhtar’s CEO Palkin.
“We have had some contacts with big clubs and some are not negotiating with us directly but are getting a feel for the summer environment,” said Palkin.
“He will definitely move to a top European club this summer. When I was at Chelsea versus Everton on Monday, many people asked me about Sudakov.”
