Frank Leboeuf says it’s ‘sad’ that ‘incredible’ Liverpool player will be sold

With all this talk of Jurgen Klopp leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

One of the biggest tests also facing the club and the potential new manager next season is dealing with the summer transfer market.

Well, come the summer, Liverpool’s transfer deals will be as important as the new manager who replaces Klopp.

That includes both incomings, as well as outgoings!

The return of Michael Edwards will fill the Liverpool fans with belief and hope that they are in safe hands because of what he has done for the club in the past.

But that doesn’t mean that the club’s transfer guru won’t still make certain transfer calls that might not prove to be popular or might upset others.

One of them includes whether Liverpool keep or sell Mohamed Salah, amid interest from Saudi Arabia.

Frank Leboeuf thinks it’s probably time that the Reds parted ways with the 31-year-old this summer because he will leave ‘sooner or later’, as he told ESPN.

The former World Cup winner added that a price of up to ‘£150 million’ should be enough for the powers that be to part ways with their legendary forward.

Even though Salah has been hit with injury this season, he has still managed to score 17 Premier League goals from 26 matches, including supplying nine assists.

“If we can get £100 million or £150 million for Mo Salah, at that age, you should take it because sooner or later, he is going to leave,” said Leboeuf.

“This is maybe a good opportunity to get money and maybe bet on some other players. It’s sad because Mo Salah is still at the top.

“But it’s a huge opportunity to get a lot of money.”

Mohamed Salah – one of Liverpool’s greatest

Whenever Salah does head for the exit door, he leaves Anfield as one of the club’s greatest-ever players and one of the favourites of the 21st century.

A player dubbed ‘incredible’ by Andy Townsend, he helped win it all on Merseyside, including ending Liverpool’s three-decade wait to become champions of England again.

His 210 goals, and counting, for the club allow him to sit alongside the greats, from Kenny Dalglish to Ian Rush.
