‘No matter what’ – Jamie Redknapp makes title prediction for next season amid Liverpool change

It has been a titanic tussle for the Premier League title that looks set to go right down to the final weeks of the season. Liverpool has been right in the mix despite difficulties last term, losing just three matches over the course of the campaign.

The Reds have not been out of the top four since August and despite a recent dip in form, could still end Jürgen Klopp’s tenure on the ultimate high. It is going to be a busy summer at Anfield as Liverpool fans prepare for a new face in the dugout for the first time since 2015.

And while Liverpool will hope for a seamless transition into the next era, there are likely to be some teething problems. After all, its next manager is replacing one of the greatest of all time.

Manchester City and Arsenal will certainly hope there is some struggle at Anfield next season after this year’s race. City remains favorites to go on and win the title, but Mikel Arteta’s Gunners went top after beating Wolves on Saturday night.

Ex-Liverpool captain Jamie Redknapp does believe City will go on and win the crown but he reckons Arsenal is primed to finish top of the pile next season. Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “I think Arsenal will win the title next season, no matter what happens.

“I think Arsenal has the capability, it is improving every single year. It will add a couple of players in the summer and will get better and better. I don’t care what happens this season, they will be my favorites for next year.”

Asked about this season’s race for the top, Redknapp added: “I don’t think it will be straightforward and Man City win all its games. It is so difficult to win points. I love watching City but it hasn’t been at the level of last season. It’s still the best team though.”

Liverpool knows it likely has to win all of its remaining matches to go on and win this season’s title. The Reds take on Everton and West Ham later this week, following Sunday’s clash against Fulham.

Liverpool.com says: Arsenal does have a very talented young squad and has definitely made improvements this season. But Liverpool was written off at the start of the campaign and has been right in the mix from the first month. There will of course be changes this summer and new faces are likely on the pitch. If the Reds can get those deals right, it should be up there again, even without Klopp.
