Liverpool’s attempts to appoint their new manager have picked up pace.
The Merseyside club has been linked with a number of managers to replace Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.
After Klopp’s declaration that he will leave the Premier League club at the end of the season, Liverpool began their search.
Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso and Sporting manager Ruben Amorim were considered favourites for the job at different stages.
However, latest reports have suggested that Feyenoord boss Arne Slot is now leading the race to become the new Liverpool boss.
According to Dutch publication 1908.NL, Slot is getting excited about the move to the Premier League club.
As per the report, the 45-year-old is reportedly pushing subtly to quit Feyenoord after becoming enthralled with the prospect of joining the Reds.
Slot and his representative, Rafaela Pimenta, are reportedly so certain that they are prepared to talk about the last details of the deal with Liverpool.
Slot is looking for a house around Liverpool
Nothing is done yet and more meetings are scheduled in the next few days. Once the Reds reach an agreement with the manager, they will need to talk to his club.
In order to appoint Slot, the Premier League club would need to pay a ‘transfer fee’ to the Dutch club.
If all is settled, the entire Slot family, according to the report, would relocate to England to live with Arne.
The Dutchman is rumoured to be searching for a house “in and around Liverpool” as he prepares to make the big move.
