Mike Tomlin, Several Other Steelers Receive Votes For 2024 NFL Awards

The NFL announced the winners of the 2024 NFL Awards on Saturday, and while no Pittsburgh Steelers took home any hardware, several members of the team received votes for various awards.

 

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin received one vote for the NFL Coach of the Year award, which was won by San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan. Tomlin led the Steelers to a 9-8 record in 2024, despite injuries to several key players.

Several Steelers players also received votes for various awards. Wide receiver Diontae Johnson received two votes for the NFL Most Valuable Player award, which was won by Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Running back Najee Harris received one vote for the NFL FedEx Ground Player of the Year award, which was won by Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook.

 

Defensive tackle Cam Heyward received one vote for the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award, which was won by Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

Finally, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick received one vote for the NFL Defensive Back of the Year award, which was won by New York Jets safety Sauce Gardner.

While no Steelers took home any awards, it’s encouraging to see several members of the team receive recognition for their outstanding play in 2024.
