Cincinnati, OH – The Cincinnati Bengals are reportedly planning to sign two of their key players, wide receiver Tee Higgins and defensive end Trey Hendrickson, to long-term deals.
According to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Bengals intend to sign Higgins and Hendrickson to contract extensions that will keep them in Cincinnati for the foreseeable future.
Higgins, who was drafted by the Bengals in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, has developed into one of the team’s top receivers. He has recorded 143 receptions for 2,071 yards and 14 touchdowns in his first three seasons with the team.
Hendrickson, who was signed by the Bengals as a free agent in 2021, has been a key member of the team’s defensive line. He has recorded 21.5 sacks and 43 tackles for loss in his two seasons with the team.
The Bengals’ decision to sign Higgins and Hendrickson to long-term deals is a clear indication that the team is committed to building a strong core of players to compete for championships in the future.
“Tee and Trey are two of our most important players, and we’re excited to keep them in Cincinnati for the long haul,” said Bengals head coach Zac Taylor. “They’re both talented players who have worked hard to develop their skills, and we’re looking forward to seeing them continue to grow and contribute to our team’s success.”
The Bengals’ front office has been busy this offseason, signing several key players to contract extensions and making moves to strengthen the team’s roster.
“We’re committed to building a winning team in Cincinnati, and we’re excited about the progress we’ve made this offseason,” said Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn. “Signing Tee and Trey to long-term deals is a key part of our plan to build a strong core of players who can help us compete for championships in the future.”
The Bengals are expected to announce the details of Higgins’ and Hendrickson’s contract extensions in the coming days.
