The Cleveland Browns are facing a crucial offseason, with several key players set to hit free agency. None may be more important than star defensive end Myles Garrett, who has been the anchor of the Browns’ defense since his arrival in 2017. While Garrett has expressed some frustration with the team in the past, teammate Greg Newsome II believes he knows what it’ll take to keep the Pro Bowl pass-rusher in Cleveland.

“It’s all about winning,” Newsome II said in a recent interview. “Myles wants to win, and he wants to be part of a team that’s committed to winning. If we can show him that we’re all-in on building a championship team, I think he’ll want to stay.”

Newsome II’s comments echo those of Browns GM Andrew Berry, who has stated repeatedly that the team is committed to building a winner around Garrett and other core players.

“We value Myles immensely, both as a player and as a leader,” Berry said. “We’re going to do everything in our power to keep him here and build a team that can compete for championships.”

While the Browns still have work to do to convince Garrett to stay, Newsome II’s comments suggest that the team is on the right track. By prioritizing winning and building a strong team culture, the Browns may be able to persuade Garrett to remain in Cleveland for the long haul.

“It’s not just about the money or the fame,” Newsome II said. “Myles wants to be part of something special, and I think we can offer him that here in Cleveland.”
