Reaves was tossed out of the game in the fourth quarter after receiving two technical fouls, sparking a heated debate among fans and pundits. However, LeBron was quick to come to his teammate’s defense, praising Reaves’ passion and competitiveness.

“Austin’s a guy who plays with a lot of heart and a lot of passion,” LeBron said in a post-game interview. “He’s a guy who wears his emotions on his sleeve, and sometimes that gets him into trouble. But I love that about him.”

 

LeBron also took issue with the referees’ decision to eject Reaves, suggesting that the calls were unfair and inconsistent.

“I don’t think Austin deserved to get tossed,” LeBron said. “I think the refs were a little too quick to pull the trigger on that one. But it’s all part of the game, and we’ve just got to move on.”

The Lakers ultimately lost the game 134-130, but LeBron’s defense of Reaves sent a clear message about the team’s camaraderie and commitment to one another.

 

“Austin knows I’ve got his back, no matter what,” LeBron said. “And I know he’s got mine. That’s what teammates are for.”
