Pittsburgh, PA – The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to be active in free agency this offseason, and one player who could potentially be on their radar is running back Nick Chubb. Chubb, who is set to become a free agent, has been one of the top running backs in the NFL over the past few seasons, and his services are likely to be in high demand.
According to Steelers insider, Dale Hathhorn, the Steelers have interest in signing Chubb. Hathhorn notes that the Steelers have been looking to upgrade their running back position, and Chubb would be a significant addition to their backfield.
“I think the Steelers have interest in Nick Chubb,” Hathhorn said. “They’ve been looking to upgrade their running back position, and Chubb would be a great fit. He’s a physical runner who can handle a heavy workload, and he’s also a threat in the passing game.”
Chubb, who was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, has been one of the top running backs in the NFL over the past few seasons. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of the past three seasons, and has also been a threat in the passing game, catching 64 passes for 479 yards and 2 touchdowns in 2022.
The Steelers have been looking to upgrade their running back position, and Chubb would be a significant addition to their backfield. The team’s current running backs, Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren, are both talented players, but Chubb would provide a different level of experience and production.
