Liverpool and Newcastle United have the chance to bolster their ranks in the summer
Liverpool look well on their way to securing the Premier League this season. Arne Slot was picked as their replacement for Jurgen Klopp last summer after catching the eye at Feyenoord.
He arrived at Anfield with big shoes to fill following Klopp’s exit. The Dutchman has adapted with ease into life in England though and barring an almighty collapse, the Reds will win the title in this campaign ahead of rivals like Arsenal and Manchester City.
The Merseyside outfit can’t stand still though and need to improve their ranks this summer. After all, the likes of Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk aren’t getting any younger and they could do with bringing in some fresh blood in the next transfer window.
Alexander Isak is one of the most prolific strikers in the world and Newcastle United will face a battle to retain his services down the line. He would be ideal for Liverpool and they should go all out to try and get him later this year
Isak, 25, is worth breaking the bank for. The Sweden international has been on fire this term and has scored 21 goals in 30 matches in all competitions and is too hot for defenders to handle.
Landing the ex-Real Sociedad would be a huge statement of intent by Slot’s side and would show that they mean business as they look to keep winning trophies. His arrival would also boost their chances of success in the Champions League and getting closer to challenging with Real Madrid.
Isak has recently had this to say on his future: “Playing football at this level has always been a dream and probably the main dream that I’ve had,” he said. “Playing in the Premier League for a club like Newcastle with a fan base like they have here is extra special.”
