The New Orleans Saints keep a key piece of its defensive line. The Saints re-signed defensive end Chase Young to a 3-year, $51 million deal Monday, according to multiple reports.
The deal is worth up to $57 million, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The 25-year-old was set to become a free agent after signing a 1-year deal last offseason.
Young is coming off a productive first year with the black and gold. The 2020 second-overall pick and former NFL defensive rookie of the year was second on the team in sacks with 5.5, along with Carl Granderson.
In 2024, Young played in all 17 games, the most he’s played in a single season in his five-year career. He tallied 31 total tackles, 21 solo tackles, a forced fumble and three passes defended.
