Ricky Hatton: Forget about Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea, Liverpool is Man City’s scariest game

Boxing legend Ricky Hutton believes Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will give Manchester City their worst performance of the season.

Jurgen Klopp’s side travel to the Etihad to kick off on Saturday afternoon. Live only on talkSPORT, they aim to take down the reigning Premier League champions. Liverpool remain unbeaten in five games and are just one point clear of Pep Guardiola’s lead.

The treble winners were held to a 4-1 draw at the Etihad in April, but City fan Hutton expects the match with the Reds, who he considers City’s biggest rivals, to be an interesting one.

“When you play a derby against Manchester United, it’s always going to be a tough game.” The former two-weight world champion told talkSPORT.

“I think [Liverpool] is our most difficult game, but that’s not the case this year because Liverpool are back in good form.

Manchester City vs Liverpool is an exciting tactical battle with an important area that determines who will emerge victorious.”City’s last game (against Chelsea) was probably the best we’ve seen this season.

“I’ve never seen us play so stupid. “When we come to the next game at Liverpool, we will have to roll up our sleeves and get back on track. “Liverpool always seem to do well against City.

“Manchester City are aiming to make history by becoming the first club to win four consecutive Premier League titles. City are favorites to win the title again in May, but Hutton is not counting his targets just yet and expects a resurgent Liverpool to push them to the limit.

“A game against Liverpool is always an important game. “This year will bring us closer together,” he added.”If we keep doing what we’re doing now, everyone will feel more confident. They may be our greatest threat.

The city is a star. I think we can all agree on that. However, there are various teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham. But I’d like to think at some point in the season they’ll all beat each other and we’ll be gone.

“But you play against a rival team who put pressure on you and you have to struggle a bit to send them a message and that’s what City have to do on Saturday.”
