“Kim Mulkey and Annesah Morrow Share Emotional Moment After Her Final Game at LSU, Reflecting on a Season of Triumphs and Challenges”

 

In an emotional moment following her final game for LSU, Annesah Morrow turned to Coach Kim Mulkey, her voice trembling as she said, “Thank you for everything seriously.” As tears flowed, Mulkey embraced her, “Get your head up—I love you, girl.”

Mulkey spoke about the weight of the moment and reflected on the emotional challenge of ending a collegiate career. “The saddest day of your life as a student-athlete in basketball is when you take that jersey off your senior year and you never put it on again,” she shared, recognizing the difficult transition Morrow was facing.

Mulkey later praised Morrow’s dedication and resilience, “Give me the Aneesah Morrows of the world every day.”

Morrow, deeply moved by the love and support she received, shared her gratitude for the time spent at LSU. “I know that they have my back and I have their back far beyond LSU, and I’m grateful for that because you don’t get to experience teammates like that,” she said.

She spoke further about how much the program had helped her grow. “I feel like they not only helped me mature on the basketball court but as a person,” she shared.

Her admiration for Mulkey was evident as Morrow praised her coach for the impact she had on her life. “Coach Mulkey challenged me to be a better person, to be a better player, and she challenged me to be able to make it in the real world,” Morrow said.

“I put a lot on my shoulders to come out and do what I did every night. Nobody in the country did what I did every night,” Morrow said, acknowledging the hard work and dedication it took to achieve her success.

Over the course of her impressive career, Morrow averaged 20.6 points, 12.4 rebounds, 2.6 steals, 1.7 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. As she moves on to the next chapter, Morrow’s legacy as one of the greatest women’s basketball athletes of this generation will never be forgotten.
