Jason Marcum has been covering the Cincinnati Bengals for Cincy Jungle since 2014 and the University of Kentucky for A Sea Of Blue since 2015.
One of the Kentucky Wildcats transfer portal targets has come off the board.
On Friday, Florida State transfer Taylor Bol Bowen committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide, according to Jonathan Givony. His commitment comes in the same week Bowen visited Kentucky. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-10, 195-pound native of Vermont was a 4-star prospect in the class of 2023. This past season, he averaged 8.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, and shot 41.4% from 3-point range on 2.4 attempts per game.
It’s not been the best transfer portal season thus far for Kentucky, but it’s also important to remember that a good chunk of the roster is hopefully already accounted for in Otega Oweh, Brandon Garrison, Travis Perry, Trent Noah, Collin Chandler, Malachi Moreno, Jasper Johnson, Acaden Lewis, and Tulane transfer Kam Williams.
That’s left Kentucky with limited scholarship spots to fill out what hopes to be another roster that makes it the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament and beyond.
Bol Bowen is a nice prospect, but there are still plenty of options for the Cats to work with.
