With the dream of a national title cut short, Blue Devils fans flood social media, urging the freshman phenom to run it back and finish what he started.
Following their 70-67 loss to Houston in the Final Four, however, Duke fans are urging Flagg to reconsider and come back to the Blue Devils instead. That way, the 18-year-old can avenge the loss and get a chance to lead the team to the national championship.
COME BACK COOPER FLAGG,” a fan pleaded. Another one said, “@Cooper_Flagg please come back for one more year. I will give you the best hug you’ve ever had if you do.”
“HOT HOT take…Cooper Flagg and Kon come back and FINISH this next season,” a commenter theorized.
“Come on back for another year, Cooper Flagg. #FinalFour,” a Duke faithful shared.
A fifth supporter urged, “Cooper Flagg come back next year and get ur revenge.”
“If Cooper Flagg doesn’t come back I’m ending it all,” a Blue Devils fan stated.
Of course it’s unlikely that Cooper Flagg returns to Duke, especially with the injury risk involved and the potential long-term money he could miss out on should he stay in college, as explained by Sporting News.
It’s also worth noting that Duke head coach Jon Scheyer hinted recently that Flagg is going to go pro, saying that the youngster is “about to move on with something special, the next step after this.”
