The Duke Blue Devils came up short of their national championship goal during the 2024-25 college basketball season. Despite the disappointing finish to the season, fans enjoyed seeing Cooper Flagg live up to the hype and put on a show in his likely one season with the program.
More than likely, Duke will lose Flagg to the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft. Assuming he does make that leap, he will have done so after making an impact that will not soon be forgotten by the Blue Devils or college basketball world.
Flagg ended up averaging 19.2 points per game to go along with 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.4 steals throughout the year. He also shot 48.1 percent from the floor and knocked down 38.5 percent of his three-point attempts.
After posting those numbers, Flagg has absolutely nothing to hang his head about if he does choose to leave for the NBA.
Not only did Flagg put up huge numbers, he also made school history.
As shared by the ACC Network, Flagg was the first Duke player to lead the time in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals.
Needless to say, it’s just another accolade to add onto his long list. It’s another sign of just how dominant he was for the Blue Devils throughout the season.
Looking ahead to the future, Flagg is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Many believe that he will become a franchise player at the next level very quickly.
Only time will tell, but Flagg’s college career at Duke was exactly what it was expected to be. He leaves behind a year of pure dominance and led the team to a lot of success, although they came up just short of their ultimate goal.
