Drake Maye sends 4-word message to New England Patriots NFL Draft star who promised to ‘fight and die’ to protect him

He immediately endeared himself to his new fans by saying on stage: “All the hard work, I have worked my entire life to be up here.

“To be able to get my name called by a franchise like New England. It means everything.”

Asked about the team’s quarterback, he replied: “I’m going to fight and die to protect him. I’ll get everything I have got.”

Maye took to social media to respond to Campbell’s remarks, tweeting: “Love this guy already.”

Patriots supporters are excited to see them both in action, with one saying: “Nobody will reach you now king.”

Another added: “Ordering my Campbell jersey asap! I love him.”

 

Campbell is said to have convinced head coach Mike Vrabel that he was the right choice after knocking him over during a training session.

“Last Thursday, the top Patriots brass and Vrabel traveled to Baton Rouge to work out Campbell.

“Vrabel ran the workout and wore a blocking pad over his chest.

 

“In a drill to execute a drive block, sources said that Campbell hit Vrabel square in the chest and knocked Vrabel back on his derriere.

Vrabel loved it and had a big smile on his face as he gathered himself and got up.”
