Darwin told Nunez to “focus” on why he is not scoring more goals instead of fighting with Pep Guardiola after the game.
Nunez has been in top form this season but kept a clean sheet as Liverpool struggled for points against Manchester City on Saturday. He was substituted with five minutes remaining but became the center of attention after the final whistle.
Nunez is seen putting the finger in Guardiola’s face as the two benches shake hands in time. The two have exchanged words, with Manchester United boss Klopp repeatedly forced to hand over his star striker from City bosses.
Darwin Nunes will cost Liverpool an extra £8.5m after falling out with Pep Guardiola.
Despite being surrounded by three Liverpool managers, Nunez continued to shout at Guardiola before being interrupted by Manchester United assistant manager Pep Lijnders.
Nunes’ actions in the incident have now been criticized by Garth Crooks, who has called for a change of focus for the Uruguayan.
The former Tottenham star told BBC Sport’s Team of the Week: “Darwin Nunes did his best but Liverpool’s good performance against Manchester City was good.”
“Instead of wasting time fighting with rival managers and being traded, Nunes should focus on why he’s not scoring more goals.”
