Saints, Browns, Titans, Dolphins, among teams to have voted against ‘Brotherly Shove’ ban
Well, NFL fans, we are going to have to get used to the “Tush Push” and watching Frankie Luvu jump over more centers for another season. The NFL decided at their meeting today to vote against the proposed ban of the Brotherly Shove brought forth by the Green Bay Packers.
Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk told us the teams that voted against the possible ban:
“According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns, Jaguars, Dolphins, Saints, and Titans voted with the Eagles, Ravens, Patriots, Jets, and Lions against the proposal that would have banned the play,” Simmons wrote.
The Ravens, Patriots, Lions, and Jets because of Schefter’s posting on X, but few thought the other teams would be the Dolphins, Jaguars, Browns, and Saints. He did make a very interesting point in his article that the Eagles do have a bunch of connections right now.
“Of those 10 teams, the Saints are particularly notable as they employ former Philadelphia offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as their new head coach, and Moore called that play plenty of times en route to a Super Bowl victory last season,” Simmons wrote.
“Cleveland, Jacksonville, Miami, and Tennessee do not have the same direct connections to Philadelphia, though Browns G.M. Andrew Berry did work in Philadelphia’s front office and his twin brother, Adam, is the Eagles’ VP of football operations and strategy.
“Notably, the Cardinals and Colts — who also have former Eagles coordinators as head coaches — did vote to ban the play.”
It does bring up a valid point that the Eagles do have connections with newly hired Saints head coach Kellen Moore, who did call that play a lot last season, and Andrew Berry of the Browns.
The other teams surprised me, like Miami doesn’t seem like the team that wants to even attempt the Tush Push with Tua. The poor guy has enough problems running into people instead of sliding.

Teams are going to start using more 449-lb Desmond Watson’s as a running back. Could you ever imagine lining up against someone random like Pittsburgh and they trot out DK Metcalf as the quarterback and they’re already a bigger offensive line with Pat Friarmuth and Darnell Washington?
Imagine any team doing that. The NFL could get goofy very quickly and that could be a great thing for ratings or a bad thing.
Only time will tell if not banning the “Tush Push” was a good or bad thing.
