DUKE LANDS FOUR-STAR WILKINS: Blue Devils Surge to No. 1 Recruiting Class with Power Forward’s Commitment

In a jaw-dropping move, Duke basketball has catapulted to the top of the 2025 recruiting rankings with the commitment of four-star power forward Sebastian Wilkins! The Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Academy standout has chosen the Blue Devils over Maryland, reclassifying from the 2026 class to join the Class of 2025.

Wilkins, ranked No. 32 overall in the 2026 class, brings a wealth of talent and versatility to the Blue Devils. The 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward is a modern-day combo-forward who can play and defend multiple positions, making him a valuable asset for Coach Jon Scheyer’s team.

“Just how straightforward they were with me and their vision for me,” Wilkins said, explaining why he chose Duke. “How they could see me making a huge impact and belief in me. And just being honest with me through everything.” This level of transparency and trust clearly resonated with Wilkins, who seems poised to thrive in the Blue Devils’ system.

This commitment cements Coach Jon Scheyer’s reputation as a top recruiter, following the footsteps of Cooper Flagg, another New England standout who recently committed to Duke. 🔥 Scheyer’s ability to attract top talent has been on full display, with the Blue Devils landing top-two freshman classes in each of the last three cycles, including No. 1 classes in 2022 and 2024.

Wilkins joins an already-loaded roster featuring elite twins Cameron Boozer and Cayden Boozer, five-star power forward Nikolas Khamenia, and Italian wing Dame Sarr, who committed just one day ago! The Blue Devils’ momentum is unstoppable, and it seems like nothing can slow down this juggernaut.

“He’s getting someone who’s going to work for whatever he gets,” Wilkins said about Coach Scheyer. “I don’t get anything given to me. I always work for everything. I’m just a hard worker. The talent’s going to show for that.” This work ethic and dedication will undoubtedly serve Wilkins well in the Blue Devils’ system.

According to 247Sports National Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein, Wilkins is a potential 3-and-D type prospect who can have added value attacking close-outs against less mobile defenders. This versatility will give Coach Scheyer a multitude of options on the court.

With Washington State transfer Cedric Coward still testing the 2025 NBA Draft waters, this latest commitment helps solidify the roster and makes it more likely that Coward will remain in the draft and begin his professional career.
