They are Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala. The pairing of Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich are currently lighting up the Bundesliga and have been for several years. And Liverpool have been linked with both.
Sport 1 recently claimed that Musiala wants more minutes and could force a move away from Bayern if the Reds do so. Wirtz has been a starter for some time, and his prowess this season is generating new buzz.
According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Leverkusen expect their star talent to leave in the coming years. Liverpool are in the mix as usual.Of course, the Reds are unlikely to sign either.
These are both very expensive offerings, and competition for each will be fierce.But at least it is possible. Liverpool can’t sign two deals, so should this be a priority?
We asked our Twitter followers on Tuesday, and after receiving nearly 7,000 responses, we definitely have something to like. In fact, it’s not even close.
At least 72% of fans chose Musiala over Wirtz. This shows how big Bayern’s reputation is. Wurtz is one of the best midfielders in world football at the age of 20, but he was given no chance here.
Maybe because of Wirtz’s injury. Maybe because Musiala has performed well in both the Champions League and the Bundesliga and is performing at a high level for Bayern Munich.
Whatever the exact reason, it’s clear that Liverpool fans are more likely to support Musiala than any of his club mates. Both would be great, but Musiala would be a surprise signing.
