Freshman Center Malachi Moreno is Latest wildcat to arrive on Campus

The University of Kentucky’s men’s basketball team is gearing up for an exciting new season, and their roster just got a whole lot more talented! Incoming freshman center Malachi Moreno has arrived on campus, joining fellow Wildcats Arizona State transfer Jayden Quaintance, Pitt transfer Jaland Lowe, and Florida transfer Denzel Aberdeen.

The 7-foot-1 big man from Georgetown, Kentucky, Moreno is considered one of the top recruits in the 2025 class, ranked 28th overall. And it’s no surprise why – he dominated on the court as a senior at Great Crossing, averaging 21.5 points and 14.9 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 72.1% from the floor. Moreno’s impressive skills have already caught the attention of college and NBA evaluators, with Kentucky head coach Mark Pope praising him as a player who “just keeps getting better, and he is getting better every day.”
