Indiana in Final 12 for Five-Star Guard Deron Rippey Jr.

Indiana men’s basketball remains in the mix for one of the top point guards in the 2026 recruiting class. Five-star talent Deron Rippey Jr. trimmed his list to 12 schools. The Hoosiers made the cut alongside Alabama, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Miami, North Carolina, NC State, Syracuse, Texas, and Tennessee.

Rippey Jr. received an offer from Indiana head coach Darian DeVries and his staff on June 14. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound guard plays at Blair Academy in New Jersey. He’s ranked No. 19 nationally, the No. 5 point guard, and the top player from New Jersey, according to the 247Sports Composite.

He’s known for his presence on both ends of the floor. This spring, Rippey averaged 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and over 2 steals per game. His shooting has improved, and scouts have taken notice. Adam Finkelstein of 247Sports praised Rippey’s growth, calling it a stretch of “largely positive developments.”
